Art Journaling changed my life.

Welcome to Art Journal Forrest. This blog will focus on art journaling and creativity. That should just about encompass everything. I started art journaling in an organized way back in 2003. I grew up keeping a written diary, but this was the first time I actually started keeping a more visual document.
I was enthralled by the artist journals that I saw in Somerset Studio Magazine, but they looked too beautiful and unaccessible for me to attempt to do myself. Then several years later I stumbled upon the work of Teesha Moore (www.teeshamoore.com) and her step by step directions on how to art journal. And that's what I did, followed her simple directions that took the fear and stumbling blocks of perfectionism out of my way and let me just....PLAY.
I find art journaling wonderful and I have several art journals full of images now. I don't journal as much as I would like, but I am continually trying to do it more often. I am also fascinated and inspired by the journals of others and I hope to explore them through this blog and everyone out there that is art journaling...or ready to jump in and try it for themselves.
So what do you think about art journaling? Any great artist websites I should check out? I have a list of my own favorites, which I plan on sharing, but I'd like to hear from others about their favorites.
Thanks for reading!

  2. Love your blog! - what you say about your journaling process is wonderful and I relate - I have a journal that is still in process after many years and I love it - do mixed media now and find it very satisfying - you never know what will come out of it!
